Award Winning Director and Screenwriter

K.K. Greer

Kelly K. Greer is a producer, writer, and film director from Memphis, Tennessee, who values the art of Visual Storytelling through shot design and character development. Her work focuses on the maturation of minority voices in heightened worlds, ranging from romantic comedies to action-filled dramas.

Ms. Greer has an MFA in Film & Creative Media Arts from Lipscomb University. Currently, she works as a full-time Professor in the Department of Communications at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. As a university professor, Ms. Greer has taught various production and writing courses at a university level.

As a child, Kelly found inspiration in predominantly black sitcoms and admired their truthfulness and willingness for tackling issues within the community while still being funny and of substance. She plans to compose a large body of work that resembles just that. Overall, as a Director, her gifts do not just stop at the artistic and technical elements of constructing a film. She also believes in being a part of all aspects of production. Rather producing, writing, directing, or editing, her primary focus will always be to create unlimited content across all genres that promote the African American Community's well-being.

“I design my shots. I walk the rehearsal as the camera and say 'this is where I want to be... I want this look and I want it now.”
